Trailer for Healer

Thoughts:
So I didn't actually start this drama until it was already six episodes in, and when I started it I really couldn't stop and binge watched the first six episodes in one day. This show is definitely apart of my watch schedule now, it is a great drama! Every episode is fast past with enough character development mixed with action and romance. It is honestly one of my favorite shows I'm watching right now. I was really skeptical at first, which is why I didn't start watching it from the start. I wasn't up to starting a new series and the plot description didn't interest me at all. Oh so wrong! I think the best part of the show is Ji Chang Wook. He is absolutely adorable and he had me eating out of the palm of his hand in the first episode. I mean look at this....

He is adorable and I basically fainted at this part..... ahhhhh if only he would call me this way.... But he is not the only reason to watch this drama. The chemistry between our two leads is so great, they are adorable together. The two leads are both a little different and eccentric but they work so great together. One of my favorite scenes is when Young Shin is dancing in the cafe with her dad with the Healer looking on in disguise.

This drama really has everything and is one I now get to look forward to watching every Monday and Tuesday. Check it out, and if you are anything like me you won't be able to stop!

My Top 5 Korean Dramas of 2014

As the year comes to a close it means that a year of dramaland has come and gone. We have seen good shows and bad shows. But it is the good ones that will be remembered for years to come, expect the really really bad ones that have forever scarred us... cough cough... Doctor Stranger.

There were so many dramas that came out this year, it's impossible to watch them all, and keeping in mind that I only got into dramas this past year so I am new to this. But I did watch a good chunk of these shows and I feel justified in sharing my favorite shows from 2014. So here is my list of the Top 5 Dramas from this past year, this is strictly my opinion so if you disagree... too bad....

Honorable Mention:
My Love from Another Star
This was really close to being in my top five. It was between Pinocchio and this drama for that last spot. When it came down to the wire I had to choose the drama that I enjoyed more and looking at both shows it was Pinocchio that won out in the end. But this drama deserves special mention because it is literally a world wide phenomenon. It has caused fried chicken crazes, and lipstick shortages all over the world. A show like this, that appeals to such a wide audience doesn't come around very often. It had the perfect mix of good plot and a great cast. It is even getting an American make over soon since ABC bought the rights to make an adaption. It's a great drama that has some priceless moments.
So my favorite scene from the drama isn't on you tube and the clip didn't want to load on my slow internet. So here is a link to watch the video, it is both hilarious and heartbreaking and is basically the best. http://vimeo.com/87798895

5. Pinocchio
So this drama isn't done airing and won't be done until the middle of January but most of the show aired in 2014 so I'm counting it on this list. This is one show that is just addicting. I look forward to watching it each week, it has a great balance between melodramatic plot and lighthearted fun. It gets to be both serious and light which is great. The acting is really well done and the main couple has great chemistry. It's a great show to end the year on!

One of my favorite kiss scenes from this entire year, they are so cute together.

4. Marriage Not Dating
This show is the best rom-coms from this year, and there were a lot of rom-coms to pick from. It had quick dialogue that was witty and smart and it had real characters facing real life situations. For example, our female lead gets indicted for stalking.... is this really a Korean drama that had someone arrested for stalking... because I know a few other leading ladies that need this type wake up call. While this drama isn't particularly overflowing with deep life changing material, it did make me laugh... a lot. It wish all rom-coms could be this witty and funny, but alas this is a special drama and a great watch in 2014.

Basically they are adorable and I love their relationship!

3. Liar Game
Liar Game is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole series. It succeeds at having a complex plot and complex characters that work together to make a great show. I think the most annoying part of this drama is that our female lead is too... good. Sometimes she is really frustrating but her characterization contrasts that of her two male costars who represent the more grey and black side of the spectrum. The show is complicated and simple at the same time and it really is a great drama. Only problem is that it's too short! #sixseasonsandamovie

2. It's Okay, That's Love
This is probably my favorite drama of all time, or at least tied for the top spot in my heart. I know it wasn't a drama without any imperfections, but I love this drama so much and it's pretty much perfect in my eyes. I loved how the drama represented Jae Jang Yeol's mental disorder. It was funny and heartbreaking all at the same time. The supporting characters are what round out the whole show making it a great ensemble. Also the music is a highlight of the show, they were able to use the music to highlight what was happening in the scene without taking away from it. I loved this drama and it was always remain one of my favorites. While they are one of the more dysfunctional couples from this year, they are still super cute and perfect, the end.

See! Perfect music for a perfect scene!

1. Misaeng
As if anyone didn't see this one coming, of course Misaeng is going to be number one and rightly so. This is a perfect drama from start to finish. The characters drive this seemingly simply story and give it life. Honestly it's perfect and you will only understand if you go watch it, so go, right now... drop everything and binge watch all 20 episodes, you won't regret it.

One of the many great scenes between Mr. Oh and Geu Rae. All the Feels!!!

So these are my favorite dramas from this past year. There have been many great shows and really every single one of them have something that qualifies them for a list like this. These five resonated with me and they are the reason why I keep watching Korean dramas. It's been a great year, so let's raise a glass and toast to this past year and hope that 2015 brings us more laughter and tears from great dramas!

Series Review: Misaeng

So this drama was brilliant.... The End.

Okay so I'll give you more than that. But really this show was absolutely and is without a doubt the best drama released in 2014, and if I'm being honest it is the best quality drama I have ever scene. I did a first impression of this series when it first started airing and all I can say is that this drama kept all those expectations and gave me more I could ever ask for.

When this drama came to an end I was amazed looking back at the journey it had taken me on. It is a 20 episode drama so it is pretty long but it didn't feel that way. The 20 episodes went by in a flash and looking back there is so much that grew and changed. I am not an outwardly emotional person, I don't cry a lot but when a show can bring me to tears it is something that is real. I am not ashamed to say that this show successfully made me cry, it also made my sister cry even though she had only watched one episode with me. I am so connected to this story I really don't even know where to begin. It is one of the rare shows that appears in dramaland that is the perfect combination of script, acting, and directing that leaves the audience speechless. I have absolutely no complaints about this show, it's perfect.

The main focus of the show is the relationship between Chief Oh and Geu Rae but it was also an ensemble show that had a cast of characters that created the world of Misaeng. I think what makes this show so incredible is that it represents us, all of us can connect to one of these characters. In fact I think I found little bits of myself in every character. This is a show about the normal people who go day in and day out at work trying to make a living in world that can be pretty cruel. There are good days and there are bad days but it's the journey that is important. Geu Rae ends the show with one final voice over saying "A path is not simply for walking: it's purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself. A path that fails to do this is not a path."

Honestly there is nothing I can say about this drama except to go watch it right now. I am sad that this journey had come to an end, that I have to say goodbye to characters that have wormed there way into my heart. It is a beautiful show that is a privilege to watch.

Series Review: Liar Game

What are you willing to do for money? This is a drama that dives into that question by asking a group of people, who all are in need of financial help, to lie and cheat their way to 10 billion won. So what would you do?

This is the first drama that has hooked me from episode 1 all the way to the last scene of the series. Everything from the casting, pacing, and directing was spot on and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole show. Liar Game is most definitely one of the best dramas 2014 had to offer us, and it is definitely one of my favorite dramas of all time. Not only is it entertaining but it also makes you think and problem solve, which isn't necessary for a lot of dramas.

The thing that makes this drama work is the complexity of not only the plot but the characters are all complex as well, and that helps carry the plot. What a lot of dramas end up doing is having a complex plot with lots of twist and turns but the characters are overly simple and soon the twist and turns become repetitive and tiresome. A good story needs a balance between the plot and the characters, this show is a perfect example of this. While there was an underlying plot throughout the whole show, each individual episode depended on the characters choices. This also led to me looking at the show through my own eyes and asking myself what I would do during that particular round. By the end of the show I found myself connecting with some of the more deceitful characters because I knew that I would honestly be making those similar types of decisions (I don't know what that says about me, but hey, I'm being honest). And honestly I would find myself rolling my eyes at the characters making "nice" decisions.

My favorite part of this drama was the villain, Kang Do Young. He was brilliant honestly. He was the perfect amount of creepy but by the end of the drama there were so many layers to his character. He was dark and twisted but he is the one that kept the ball rolling throughout the entire game, he was always one step ahead and that never changed. He was brilliant and scary and I grew to love his character. One thing dramas, especially mystery type dramas, like to do is have outlandish villains that end up being more cartoonish by the end of things. This drama didn't do that, if anything, it made Kang Do Young more human by the end, even though some of the things he does seem a little out there, everything worked.

This is a drama that is hopefully (fingers crossed) going to have a second season. Usually I am one that believes one and done is good enough for a drama, but this one has so much left unsaid. I am truly hoping that there is a second season coming! This is one of my favorite dramas that premiered in 2014 and as the year comes to a close it is definitely at the top of the list for dramas released this year.

First Impression: Seonam Girls High School Investigators Ep. 1

Seonam Girls High School Investigators
Profile:
Genre: School, Mystery, Romance
Episodes: 16
Broadcast Network: jTBC
Run Time: Tuesday

Main Cast:
Jin Ji Hee as Ahn Chae Yool
Hyeri as Lee Ye Hee
Kang Min Ah as Yoon Mi Do
Lee Min Ji as Kim Ha Jae
Stephanie Lee as choi Sun Yoon

Synopsis: Five students are members of a private investigator club as Seonam Girls High School. They try to solve the problems of private education, abortion, bullying, suicide, and other problems in the Korean education system.

Thoughts: This drama is so weird and quirky, it's brilliant! I honestly did not know what to expect going into this show, it looked weird but from everything I read about the premise, it had a darker tone. After watching the first episode that is exactly what it was, it was quirky and had funny moments but the show was pretty dark. It reminded me a lot of Surplus Princess but a lot darker. The first few sections is really intense and a little overwhelming but the episode definitely gets better as it goes. I definitely think this is a drama to watch and I think the story will get better as the series goes.

First Impression: Dr. Frost Ep. 1-3

Dr. Frost
Profile:
Genre:Crime, Thriller, Mystery
Episodes: 10
Broadcast Network: OCN
Run Time: Sunday

Main Cast:
Song Chang Ui as Baek Nam Bong
Jung Eun Chae as Yoon Sung Ah
Lee Yoon Ji as Song Sun
Sung Ji Roo as Nam Tae Bong
Choi Jung Woo as Chun Sang Won

Synopsis: Baek Nam Bong is known as Dr. Frost. He became a professor in psychology at an early age. He is extremely bright, but he has difficulties sympathizing with others due to an injury to his frontal lobe as a child. During the day, he now works as a counselor at the campus counseling center and at night he works as a bartender. He then begins to work with a teaching assistant, Yoon Sung Ah at the counseling center. Yoon Sung Ah is enthusiastic with the clients needing counseling. They work together to solve problems who go there for help.

Thoughts: This is a really interesting drama and I'm really enjoying it so far. It has a protagonist who is kind of a douche and a leading lady who is kind of annoying... but somehow it works. I know this is based off a web series of the same name, but I can't help but see a very similar connection to BBC's Sherlock, which is one of my favorite television series. The lead actors mannerisms are just too similar to Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock. Even the soundtrack is similar to the British show. Obviously there are a lot of differences but the similarities are hard to ignore. Also one of my favorite actresses Lee Yoon Ji, who did an amazing job in King 2 Hearts, so I am looking forward to seeing more from her in future episodes. I am hopeful for this show, it really does look promising. I like the dark tone and the character study each episode has. With only 10 episodes it should be a quick but great ride!

Update!!!!!!!!!!!

So basically my life has been taken over by school, that is why I haven't been posting anything recently. But because finals are in two weeks that means I need to procrastinate everything possible which means working on my blog! So instead of studying I am going to do a few posts!!! I have already updated my watch list since I have finished a few dramas since I last updated my blog. I am also hoping to do a couple of first impressions and maybe a review... we will see how long this procrastinating thing works.....
Also as the year 2014 is coming to an end it is only natural that we start voting for our favorite dramas that have come out. While I know that there are still a few weeks left in December and there are dramas that are airing in these coming weeks the voting must start anyway. My favorite place to vote is a http://www.dramabeans.com/. They are a brilliant blog that has so much info about Korean dramas and recaps and reviews that are great. They a thing called the Beanie Awards and I encourge everyone to go vote!!!!!! Not only is it fun to vote for your favorite dramas but you also get to read some hilarious commentary on each show, another thing that is fun is they show results from past years so you can go see what was popular in 2007 or 2010. So go and Vote!!!

First Impressions: Misaeng - Incomplete Life

I want to give my first impressions of some of the new dramas that have just premiered. I am going to review the first two episodes of these shows and then at the end of the show give a full review and see how my thoughts of the show changed throughout the drama.

Misaeng - Incomplete Life
Profile:
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Drama
Episodes: 20
Broadcast Network: TvN
Run Time: Friday/Saturday

Main Cast:
Siwan as Jang Geu Rae
Lee Sung Min as Oh Sang Sik
Kang So Ra as An Young Yi
Kang Ha Neul as Jang Baek Ki
Byun Yo Han as Han Suk Yool

Synopsis: Based on a webtoon of the same name, Misaeng is about Jang Geu-Rae who came close to becoming a professional baduk player. Playing the game was everything to him, but when he failed to become a professional player he got thrown out into the real world, that values education and status above anything else. He must leave his isolated existence and learn to navigate the corporate culture he's been thrust into.
Trailer #6

Thoughts: From the previews I had seen I expected this show to lean more to comedy than to drama, but that definitely wasn't the case and I'm glad that this show is a little more melodramatic then the previews suggested. This show gives a very unique look at what it's like to start a job at a big company and how lost you can be your first few days. Watching Geu Rae on his first day of work is just painful, he is so lost you can't help but feel for him. He is bullied relentlessly for being different from his coworkers and his loneliness is something we can all connect to. I feel really hopeful for this drama, it has a very serious vibe, I came close to tears during both the first and second episode, to it but I also feel that it will have it's lighthearted moments that will round out the drama.

Favorite Moment: At the end of the second episode when Oh Sang Sik gets drunk and reveals that Geu Rae didn't make the mistake, his colleague did, he goes on to declare that Geu Rae is just as good as the other interns, in fact, he is better. At the end of the scene he calls Geu Rae "Our Kid" and that hits Geu Rae, he finally feels like he belongs at the company and that gives him the confidence boost that he needed to truly succeed in this new environment.

Fun Fact: The production traveled to Amman, Jordan on September 18, 2014 to shoot the prologue scenes for the drama. They got to film scenes in the ancient Petra City, Wadi Rum and other areas of Jordan. Misaeng is the first South Korean drama series to film on location in Jordan.

These are only dramas that I have seen in their entirety. I really only rate them on how much I actually enjoyed the drama and I guess a little bit of the quality of the production. They are rated on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest.

However, his family is badgering him to marry, and to get them to give up on their efforts, he comes up with a plan to introduce Joo Jang Mi as his girlfriend who he thinks will never be approved by his family.

Thoughts:
This is a really fun drama that is pure entertainment. It was funny and kept me watching all the way through the end. What I loved what that the characters seemed real and I could relate to them.

Rating: 9/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fated to Love You
Synopsis:
*This is a remade of the hit 2008 Taiwanese drama with the same title.
Lee Gun is the president of a family company that produces shampoos and soaps. He is deeply in love with a ballerina, Nam Se Ra. Meanwhile, Kim Mi Young works as a secretary in a law firm. Her nickname is "Post-It". She earned her nickname because she is so complaisant that her colleagues dump trivial chores on her. Lee Gun and Kim Mi Young's paths cross, fate and a pair of misfit conspirators cause them to pass a befuddled night together, unintentionally, she becomes pregnant.

Thoughts:
This is another drama that is just pure fun. Especially at the beginning of the drama there are ridiculous situations that are just hilarious. As the drama deepens there are some very touching moments that will have you in tears. It is a very good drama with both lighthearted and deeply moving moments. But it definitely falls into a melodramatic and does fall apart a little bit, but I still enjoyed watching it through to the end.

Rating: 6/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gu Family Book
Synopsis:
A melodrama epic about the great deal of trouble Choi Kang Chi, born as a half-human-half-mythical creature, who goes through in order to become human.
Yoon Seo Hwa and the guardian god of Jiri mountains, Gu Wal Ryung fell in love but due to the trap of their enemies are ripped apart. Seo Hwa, feeling unable to raise her child sends him down the river in a basket hoping that someone will take him. He is raised by the Choi family and as he nears his 20th birthday he meets Dam Yeo Wool and begins his journey.

Thoughts:
This drama is just okay. It's pretty long and I don't know if it is really worth it to watch the whole thing. There are definitely good moments but also really bad ones... for example that ending.

Rating: 5/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coffee Prince
Synopsis:

Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feeling start to spark, between Han Kyul and Eun Chan.

Thoughts:
This is a K-drama staple, if you are going to watch Korean dramas this is one that you have to watch, it's a classic. One of the best couples from all of dramaland.

Rating: 9/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Love from Another Star
Synopsis:
Do Min Joon is an alien who possesses a near perfect appearance and enchanced physical abilities involving his vision, hearing and speed. His character also happens to be a university professor. Although he holds a cynical view of human beings, he gets entangled in a sweet love story with actress Chun Song Yi.

Thoughts:
Since this drama aired it has been super popular and for good reason. It really is so cute and fun. It is so popular that an American TV station has picked it up to make an American remake which will not be near as good as the original. This show also has one of my favorite individual scenes out of all the shows I've watched. It involved a Bruno Mars song, recording, and so many tears.

Rating: 8/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That Winter, the Wind Blows
Synopsis:
Oh Soo, known as the best gambler in the Cheongdam neighborhood, lives a meaningless life. His parents dumped him at an early age and he lost his first lover. Meanwhile Oh Young is the heir to a large corporation, but she lives a lonely existence. She lost her eyesight at an early age and her father recently passed away. Their fates soon become intertwined.

Thoughts:
While I like this drama, it does get kind of boring in the middle. It is a love story but it's kind of weird because Oh Soo is pretending to be Oh Young's brother so when he starts to have feelings for her it gets a little creepy, but it's dramaland where we accept all things, and since he isn't really her brother it's not as bad.

Rating: 7/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cunning Single Lady
Synopsis:
Ae Ra is focused on her appearance as she believes it will lead her to a better life. She then meets Jung Woo who studied engineering. They eventually get married, but they soon after get divorced. After their divorce, Ae Ra goes through difficult times. Unlike his ex-wife, Jung Woo becomes a successful IT developer and becomes very wealthy. When their paths cross again the two exes want to get back at each other, but as they fight they soon find themselves falling back in love.

Thoughts:
While I watched this drama all the way through it wasn't my favorite. It has some great moments but it just drags on which is weird for a 16 episode drama. Joo Sang Woo is so attractive and that  helps to get through the boring middle bits. Overall it is a typical K-drama romantic comedy.

Rating: 6/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emergency Couple
Synopsis:
Jin Hee led a statisfying life as a dietition. She then met medical school student Chang Min. Despite his wealthy family's strong opposition, Jin Hee and Chang Min decided to get married. Chan Min also graduated from medical school and begins to work as an intern.  On the first day of their internships they discover that they have both chosen to work at the same hospital and will be forced to work together.

Thoughts:
This drama just wasn't very good. I think a lot of the problems was that the leads didn't have great chemistry and the writing was pretty rough.

Rating: 5/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Secret
Synopsis:
Everyone has their own secrets. Secrets can help people succeed and even fall in love; but secrets can also destory people. Secrets can sometimes make us happy, worried, or even blind us to reality. This drama is bout secrets. It is an exploration intot he trials and tribulations of people who live with secrets. Jo Min Hyuk was born into a wealthy family. He has everything including good looks, intelligence, but he doesn't have kindness. He loses his girlfriend in a hit and run accident. Kang Yoo Jung goes to prison, because of a hit and run accident that killed Min Hyuk's girlfriend. Her boyfriend Ahn Do Hoon is the one that actually committed the hit and run accident, but Yoo Jung takes the blame. She is then betrayed by her boyfriend when she is finally set free from his crime.

Thoughts:
This drama is so messed up, that's probably why I like it so much. None of the characters have redeeming qualities they are all just horrible people doing horrible things to each other, the lead actress is an exception but her character is so annoying that I just count her. The love story is probably the most messed up part but it is a great watch that sucks you into this horrible world, I couldn't stop watching.

Rating: 8/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scent of a Woman
Synopsis:
A woman, Lee Yeon Jae, is given the grim prognosis that she only has a short time left to live. She decided to quit her job at a travel agency and live out the rest of her days to the fullest.

Thoughts:
This is definitely one of the saddest drama's I've watched. Even though it has a semi hopeful ending it still ends with the fact that this woman will die someday. It's depressing but it is also a really great drama that it worth watching, just be prepared with tissues because you will cry.

Rating: 7/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playful Kiss
Synopsis:
Based on the popular Japanese manga Itazura na Kiss, Oh Ha Ni is a clumsy student who falls for the perfectionist, Baek Seung Jo. However, Seung Jo is indifferent towards her and rejects her love. When Ha Ni's house collapses, she and her father move into his long time friend's house. It turns out that Seung Jo is the friend's son and Ha Ni is given the opportunity to be near the guy she loves.

Thoughts:
This is the drama that started it all, it is the first Korean drama I ever watched, it holds a special place in my heart. That being said it isn't a perfect drama, the first episode is super weird, but once you get through the first few episodes it starts to calm down. This is a drama that I know a lot of people start with, it has everything a romantic K-drama should have, it's a really good drama to start with.

Rating: 7/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boys Over Flowers
Synopsis:
Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry cleaning store located near the luxurious and well known Shin Hwa College. Jan Di meets the four riches and most spoiled boys known as the F4. After saving a boy from jumping off the roof of Shin Hwa High School, she is admitted into the school on a swimming scholarship. Jan Di tries to avoid confrontation with the F4 at all cost because she knows what happens to those that stand against them. However, when Jan Di's friend, Oh Min Ji, accendtally gets ice cream on the leader of the F4's shoes, she's forced to declare war on the leader of the F4, Goo Joon Pyo.

Thoughts:
This drama is probably the one most people have heard about, it is also the drama that introduces most people to dramaland. It aired in 2009 and is still one of the most watched Korean dramas out there which says a lot about this show, it is a classic. With that being said I don't like this drama. It may be because I watched it after I had already gotten into dramas and it wasn't just an introduction type of drama, but I really don't like this drama. That may get me in trouble but I just can't hide that fact, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good drama, because obviously it has something that has people going back to it again and again.

Rating: 6/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Princess
Synopsis:
An ordinary college student, Lee Seol, finds out she's a princess. The grandson of Daehan Group, Park Hae Young, is put in charge of educating Seol on proper etiquette. However, Hae Young is put in a precarious situation when he finds himself drawn to Seol, the girl who will take away his inheritance if the monarchy is restored.

Thoughts:
This is another really fun romantic comedy. It is a good one to watch after you watch a more depressing show, which is what I did so it was a nice pick me up. The leading actor is one of the best looking men I have ever seen in my life and his shower scene, though completely unnecessary, is sent from the gods.

Rating: 7/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lie To Me
Synopsis:
Gong Ah Jung, a level 5 Ministry of Culture official, gets entangled in a web of lies when she mistakenly lies that she's married to Hyun Ki Joon, a hotel manager from an affluent family. Their relationship is further complicated when Ki Joon's ex-fiancee and his brother, Oh Yoon Joon, reappears in his life.

Thoughts:
This is another typical K-drama comedy, it is fun and quirky but it has all the usual tropes that come with the territory. It has a great kiss scene, but that is about the only exciting part of the whole drama.

Rating: 4/10

The Master's Sun
Synopsis:

She lives a very reclusive and closed-off life due to her supernatural ability. As Joo Joong Won starts to believe in Tae Gong Shil's claim of being able to see ghosts, these two people will grow together in faith and in character.

Thoughts:
The first Hong Sisters drama I watched. The two leads have great chemistry and the story is super interesting. A good look at a light horror type drama.

The King 2 Hearts

Set in South Korea that is still under a constitutional monarchy. Lee Jae Ha is the crown prince of South Korea, and younger brother to the king. Lee Jae Kang. He has no intentions of being a proper soldier, or of ever becoming king. However, that all changes when Jae Kang announces a joint participation in the World Officer Championship with North Korea. In an act of goodwill, he enlists Jae Ha to be part of the North-South Korean team. He becomes more willing to participate, but little does he know, Hang Ah isn't the easiest woman to get along with. Things get worse when the two enter an arranged marriage for political reasons.

Thoughts:
This drama is so great, it has great acting and a great high concept plot. It is interesting to see how North Korea is portrayed and now the relationship between the countries is portrayed. It has really great comedy but it also has extremely dark plots running through it.

City Hunter
Synopsis:
The story takes place in Seoul, 2011. Lee Yoon Sung is a talented MIT graduate who works on teh international communications team in the Blue House. He plans revenge on the five politicians who cause his father's death with his surrogate father Lee Jin Pyo and eventually becomes a "city hunter," a nickname given to him by the populace. He is torn between his surrogate father's drive for vengeance and the innocent girl he loves, Yoon Sung must fight to survive, and choose the path he will take.

Thoughts:
This is a pretty good drama, its action scenes are beautifully shot and are probably my favorite part of the drama. There are a lot of great twists and turns throughout the drama but my biggest problem is the ending, it leaves too many loose ends. With how clever some of the plot twists where I just don't think it was finished as well as it could have been.

Answer Me, 1997
Synopsis:
This drama focuses on the extreme fan culture that emerged in the 1990's when idol groups took center stage and K-pop was blossoming. It tells the story of 6 former high school friends from a school in Busan who meet again in 2012 and brings back memories to 1997 when they were still high school students. Moving back and forth between the '90's and today, the story centers on the life of Sun Si Won who idolizes boy band H.O.T and her 5 high school friends.

Thoughts:
This drama is another brilliant one, it is probably my second favorite drama. I think this drama is more down to earth than a lot of other K-dramas. While it is still a TV show and will dramatize things, it just feels more real. I think what makes it a little harder to watch is the pop culture references for a country I didn't grow up in. There are a lot of things that I had to look up to really understand what they were talking about, so it is a little more work. But I've found that since I've done all this research I can catch references in other dramas that I wouldn't have been able to catch before. This drama is great and I would recommend it to everyone.

The Princess' Man
Synopsis:
Princess Se Ryung is the fearless and strong-willed daughter of Grand Prince Su Yang. Seung Yoo is a noble who capture her heart. The only problem is that their fathers are powerful rivals, and both will stop at nothing to defeat the other.

Thoughts:
I love this show, the love story is pretty epic, it starts out really innocent and then turns into this betrayal/revenge story. It is for sure my favorite historical drama I've watched. It has some of the most gorgeous cinematography. It isn't really a feel good drama so if you are looking for something light, this isn't the one to start.

She and the general manager of the hotel, Cha Jae Wan who appears cold on the outside but carries emotional baggage, eventually fall in love and fight to save the hotel they both love.

Thoughts:
I really like this drama for the first half, then the plot just kept on going and going and it dragged on and on. I was able to get through it but I wish the series was at most 16 episodes.

Discovery of Romance
Synopsis:
Han Yeo Reum's life seems perfect. She is a designer who owns her own successful workshop, she lives with her two best childhood friends, she has a sweet, successful boyfriend of 3 years, Nam Ha Jin, who might pop the question any day. Her life seems to be heading in the right direction, until she suddenly comes face to face with her selfish and snobby, but somehow charming, designer ex-boyfriend of 5 years, Kan Tae Ha. As Han Yeo Reum begins working closely with Kang Tae Ha on a design project, old feeling begin to re-emerge. Meanwhile, it seems that Name Ha Jin is facing his won crisis of love when his childhood friend, Ahn Ah Rim, comes back into his life.

Thoughts:
The only reason I was able to finish this drama was because of the supporting characters. The main characters drove me up the wall crazy, especially the lead female. But the two best friends are hilarious and watching them slowly accept their feelings for each other was worth getting through the main plot line.

Surplus Princess

Synopsis:
This drama is about a mermaid who attempts to become a human being so she can stay forever with the man she loves. She drinks a bottle of human potion, before she even realizes the 100 day consequence to this potion. Before she reaches the 100th day of being a human, she has to find her perfect love.

Thoughts:
I loved this drama, it was so weird and quirky but for some reason it worked. It honestly was just a joy to watch, that is, until the network decided to ruin everything. Because of low rating they cut the original order for the drama which was 16 episodes down to 10. The ending of the drama is just the worst, they didn't have enough time to establish some of the things they wanted to establish and the last hour was just a mess. But there are some golden scenes in this drama and even though the ending sucked, I would still watch it just for those few scenes that are just perfect.

Soo Wan, who had been blind, eventually undergoes an eye transplant surgery that restores her sight. Twelve years later, Soo Wan now works as an emergency rescue worker, while Dong Joo is a surgeon, and they meet each other again.

Thoughts:
The first 5 or 6 episodes of this drama are great, especially the beginning episodes that show the two leads as teenagers. From then on this drama goes down hill, it is just the same angst driven plot over and over again.

Greatest Love
Synopsis:
Goo Ae Jung is a former girl group member whose popularity has waned despite her sweet personality. Dokko Jin is the top action star in Korea who privately has an arrogant side. When Goo Ae Jung enters a variety show that fakes marriages between celebrities and normal people, she gets entangled in a love square with her ex-band mate Kang Se Ri, Dokko Jin, and adorable Eastern medicine doctor Yoon Pil Joo.

Thoughts:
This is another romantic comedy that is pure entertainment. It's funny and lighthearted and you will be rooting for the romantic leads, expect sometimes the second male lead will sneak into your heart and you will wish that somehow he will get the girl. It takes an interesting look at love in the entertainment industry and how fake that world can be.

Synopsis:
Sang Hyo is the manager for the wedding department of a hotel. She is a perfectionist with a right personality, she was once married 7 years ago but divorced 3 months after the wedding. She meets her ex-husband Hae Young as a client at the hotel. Sung Gyeom is the management director of the hotel. A murder takes place at the hotel under mysterious circumstances that has to do with Sung Gyeom's past.

Thoughts:
This drama started out really promising but as the episodes when on the lead female got more and more annoying. I hate how drama writers will ruin a really great female character by making her all whinny half way through the show. I struggled to finish this drama but at least it got a happy ending.

Pasta
Synopsis:
Seo Yoo Kyung has endured the grueling job of kitchen assistant at high-class restaurant Le Sfera fir two years in hopes of being promoted to chef. Things are looking up as she meets a handsome stranger on the street who ends up being the restaurant's new head chef. His first day on the job, however, he fires all the female cooks, including Yoo Kyung. Yoo Kyung, too stubborn to let go of her dream, is willing to do whatever it takes to get her job back. Yoo Kyung struggles as she butts heads with the new head chef while trying to learn everything she can from him at the same time, and sparks begin to fly. Things are complicated by the presence of Kim San, a charming customer with an eye for Yoo Kyung who seems to have mysterious ties to the restaurant, and Oh Sae Young, a famous TV Chef and former love of Hyun Wook, not to mention the kitchen politics that get in the way of their budding romance.

Quick Take: This show was really interesting to watch, because apart of me knew that if I ever met a man like Choi Hyun Wook I wouldn't hesitate to kick him in the balls, but then I found myself swooning over him. I know his character is a complete and utter ass but there is also something there that just makes me love him. I think the most stressful part of this drama is the lead female, I feel like she is such a push over and doesn't do anything to really stand up for herself. This drama is very upbeat and it is a really fun watch, and even though Lee Sun Gyun's character is the worst, he is still so fun to watch and his deep voice is just so enchanting. Overall it's a drama that requires you to get around some pretty bad misogyny to enjoy, but it is fun none the less and was a fun binge watch.

Thoughts:
This drama was pretty cute. The romance was good and their were some really nice moments. The ending got a little over the top with serious melodrama but it was a nice watch all together. There are some sad moments but there are also a lot of fun upbeat moments. The kids are the best part of the entire show!

While the one who holds all the cards is the MC Kang Do Young who holds some dark secrets of his own.

Thoughts:
Basically this show is absolutely brilliant. The concept itself is amazing, it is basically showing how far people are willing to go to get money. Each episode brings in a new concept and you are left wondering how our players are going to win this round. One of my personal favorite dramas and I think it is right up there for one of this best dramas this year. This is what makes dramas so great. Synopsis:
This drama is about a family who lives in a suburb of Seoul and their three generation old noodle house.

Thoughts:
I watched this drama because I realized I have never watched a 50 episode drama. And now I know why I don't... These dramas are so long and they drag their stories through so many different plots it gets a little crazy. There are also so many characters it's hard to keep track of them all. I'm just not the biggest fan of long family dramas.

Thoughts:
This drama was just okay. I have found I'm not the biggest fan of Korean procedural dramas, they just don't interest me as much. But it was still an interesting show. I suffered from second lead syndrome all through this one so that was kinda a bummer as well.

When he wakes up, the two form an awkward partnerhsip, as Dae Woong begins to rely on the power of the orb to shoot his action sequences, while also giving into Mi Ho's request to teach her how to act human.

Thoughts:
This drama is very good, it is a drama that is just fun to watch but it also has some meaningful moments. I truly believe that this is a drama everyone should watch, it's a classic and it is everything that a typical K-drama should be, it is lighthearted and fun and it never gets too serious. I really like the lead actor, Lee Seung Ki, he is just so cute, his smile kills me every time. I also really enjoyed the lead actress a lot as well. But honestly the best part of this show was Dae Woong's Aunt and her love story with Dae Woong's film director. Their romance is absolutely hilarious and their relationship is basically perfect, they were honestly my favorite part of the entire drama. Overall it's a good drama that everyone should watch.

Thoughts:
This is a great drama. It isn't what I usually watch which made it very different for me. I am not a fan of crime procedural shows but I thought this one did a great job balancing the plot with action. The acting was well done and the story sucks you in until the final episode.

Synopsis:
Faith is about an elite warrior in 1300's Korea who travels to the 21st century to find a doctor acable of healing the Queen. In a comic twist, his search for a doctor with godlike abilities leads him to a popular plastic surgeon. When she refuses to believe his outlandish story, he kidnaps her, dragging her back into the past to save the Queen. As the story unfolds the stoic warrior and modern surgeon have to decide to give up their current way of life for a love that truly transcends time.

Thoughts:
I honestly didn't really like this drama. It was long and it dragged in the middle. The story is kind of crazy and the villains are more cartoonish than anything. Lee Min Ho is not my favorite actor, I feel like he uses the same facial expression in every situation no matter what, this facial expression expands every drama I have watched him in. He is definitely at his best in City Hunter but even then I wasn't all that interested in him. Overall the show was just blah, it was a nice mind numbing show to watch when I had free time. Not one I would suggest right away to anyone.

In order to do this, she borrows the body of Yi Kyung, a part-time employee at a convenience store for 49 days.

Thoughts:
I think this was an overall good drama. I think the story was very good, I just wish some of the acting had been a little better. It took me a while to really get into the drama but about half way through I got more engaged with the story. This is mostly because you learn more about Yi Kyung and the Scheduler and their story is really what kept me watching. Jung Il Woo, for me, was the best part of the drama. Even though I don't think it was anywhere near perfect, it was a good watch and had some great meaning behind the general plot. I cried pretty hard the last couple of episodes so make sure you have tissues ready to go.

On December 24, 2010, a bus full of students leaves the school. Diligent honor student Park Moo Yul stays behind because of a letter he a couple of days ago. The letter is full of hate and states that someone will die and will curse Park Moo Yul. Unbeknownst to Moo Yul, 7 other students recieved the same letter and have elected to stay behind.

Thoughts:
I really loved this drama. It was very serious and carried a heavy dark tone throughout the eight episodes. What I loved about this drama is that it make me question things and I found myself thinking about this drama long after I had finished it. Honestly I have been thinking about the question this drama leaves with the audience, are monsters born or raised? This drama had a brilliant concept and had great acting. The only complaint I have is in the last episode there are some ridiculous "miracle" plot points to keep the story going. They were so close to being perfect. Oh well they were close enough for me and this is really a great drama.

He travels 300 years into the future of modern Seoul and meets Choi Hee Jin, a no name actress who is expecting a career renaissance through her role as Queen In Hyun in a TV drama "New Jang Hee Bin"

Thoughts:
This drama was so great. It is definitely the best of the time travel type shows that I have watched. It wove the Joseon era with modern Seoul extremely well. I think the writing was witty and really matched the tone of the show. The two leads are perfect together, in fact they dated in real life after the drama ended, which is the cutest story in and of itself, but their chemistry shows through the drama. I watched this drama in two days, I honestly couldn't stop. It was a nice fun drama after the last few heavy dramas I had been watching.

Thoughts:
I really liked this drama in the beginning. It was funny and the chemistry between the two leads we great. But as the show went on the story started to loose it's light hearted feeling and became really serious and boring.  I struggled to finish this drama in all honestly. I lost all interest and the last episode is not worth sticking around for. Overall a disappointment.

Synopsis:
Five years ago, Yul Moo jumped in the car of Prosecutor Dong Chi. Dong Chi fell in love with her at first sight. He asked her to meet him 10 times and then decide if she wants to continue their relationship. At the 10th meeting, Yul Moo found some crumpled up paper in his backpack and left without saying anything to Dong Chi. Now, Yul Moo begins work as a trainee prosecutor and meets Dong Chi in front of his office. She is assigned to the team where prosecutor Dong Chi works. Yul Moo is very enthusiastic about her work. Dong Chi, still holding feelings for her, tries to help her become the best prosecutor, but Yul Moo holds a secret.

Quick Take:
I enjoyed this drama up until the final episode. While the story is pretty crazy and hard to follow it was fun to watch. I don't really like legal dramas so it was nice to watch one that I enjoyed. Plus Choi Jin Hyuk is adorable and now I'm a fan of the equally adorable Lee Tae Hwan. The lead female was probably most least favorite part of the drama, I found her character slightly annoying. But that all changed when the final episode aired and it was a hot mess. The final episode felt like the writers had this idea that they didn't have enough episodes to flesh out and we are left with them trying to tie up a few of the loose ends. The finale is confusing and the worst.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band
Synopsis:
Joo Byun Hee is the crazy, free spirited leader and vocalist of the popular underground rock group, Eye Candy. Join him is Kwon Ji Hyuk, chic Lee Hyun Soo, playerboy Kim Ha Jin, silent Jang Do Il and baby faced SEo Kyung Jong. When their delinquent riddent school is forced to close down, they debate whether it's even worth returning to high school at all. However, due to an outside confrontation with the new school's current ruling band, Strawberry Fields, Eye Candy decided to attend Jungsang High out of spite so they can rule the school once again. This drama is an atypical music drama, it is gritty, relentless and highly stylized to the punk sentiment.

Quick Take: I LOVE this drama. It is a coming of age story that is so real and down to earth. Everything the main characters go through to find themselves is something that every body goes through. You watch these characters struggling to find who they are individually while struggling with fame and popularity. The last episode leaves you with these kids who have their futures ahead of them and I cried. My favorite scene in the show is Eye Candy playing the song that made them famous and having the shadow of Byun Hee come up and it's beautiful and perfect.

But in a world where hard facts rule, how far can you get by lying?

Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this drama. It was great to watch from start to finish, even though it did loose steam about half way through. The best part of this drama is the chemistry between the two leads, they were amazing. I mean that toast kiss blew me away. Other then the leads the drama showed a family dynamic that was beautiful. Dal Po and In Ha's family was adorable and you could tell that this family really cared for each other and would do anything for each other. It was a great drama and was a great watch.

Dr. Frost

Synopsis:
Baek Nam Bong is known as Dr. They work together to solve the problems of people who turn to them for help.

Thoughts:
I really enjoyed the drama overall, but it wasn't perfect. I always love shows that analyze psychology and show how complicated people can be. This show really reminded me of BBC's Sherlock in a lot of ways, they even used some background music that is used in that show. I think it is an interesting story that was told well. I found the lead female slightly annoying and Dr. Frost was a little boring. Usually you get to see more character growth and it may have been because the show was only 10 episodes long so we didn't get to see as much as a normal length drama. It had interesting concepts and was executed well but it wasn't always the most exciting show.

Quick Take: This drama is perfect. It has comedy, romance, and drama that all balance each other out to create a very entertaining show that can make you laugh out loud and cry. It is a drama that I originally wasn't going to watch but when I read some reviews I decided to give it a try and it has turned out to be a fantastic decision. Secret Investigation Record

Synopsis:
This drama is based on cases detailed in the Annals of Joseon History with a bizarre twist; these incidents incorporate mysterious, supernatural elements that cannot be explained through science. Kim Hyung do is an inspector of the state whose single minded focus on his investigations into administrative misdeeds bring him into direct contact with these strange mysteries. Heo Yoon Yi is a government employee who aids him and attempts to understand these scientific impossibilities with an open mind, in contrast to his cynicism.

Thoughts:
This was a great drama that I really enjoyed watching but I understand how it isn't everyone's cup of tea. It is weird and the ending leaves you with a lot more questions then answers but the show is unlike anything else I have watched. If you like The X Files you will like this show because this show is basically The X Files in Korean. In fact a lot of translations have the title being Joseon X Files. I honestly loved every second of the show and thought it was really great incorporating sci-fi elements into Joseon History.

Thoughts:
I absolutely loved this drama. I first approached it hesitantly because I didn't really know what to expect. What I did know was that I loved Ji Sung so I was looking forward to his performance and I am so glad that he ended up taking this role. I don't think anyone else could have done it as perfectly as he did. It was absolutely amazing how he embodied each and every character 100%. Really he was perfect and he alone is worth watching the show.

Seonam Girls High School Investigators
Synopsis:
Five students are members of a private investigator club at Seonam Girls High School. They try to solve the problems of private education, abortion, bullying, suicide, and other problems in the Korean education system.

Thoughts:
What drew me to this show originally was the synopsis and how this show was going to tackle some very serious subjects that you usually don't see in dramaland. I had no idea really what to expect when I started watching but I was pleasantly surprised. The show is set up like an monster of the week type thing and it works really well. What I enjoyed most was the individual stories that these girls get involved in. Probably my least favorite part was the overarching plot line which in the last couple episodes gets wrapped up very quickly. This show is very quirky and I don't think it's for everyone in that case, but the subjects that it tackles are important not only for Korean society but the whole world, and in that sense it is definitely worth the watch.

Thoughts:
I really loved this drama. I don't watch a lot of historical dramas so when I started this one I didn't have a lot of high hopes but it ended up being really great. I think what I enjoyed most was that it was realistic and everything that happened in the drama was believable. The only thing I wish there was more of was romance, they don't focus on it too much, which was both refreshing and disappointing. But it is also more realistic to the time period. The drama had a good mix of ordinary life with the action and mystery. A really great period drama that I would suggest to anyone to watch.

Ghost Seeing Detective Cheo Yong
Synopsis:
Yoon Chae Yong is a detective who can see and hear ghosts from the day he was born. He solves mysterious cases along with female detective Ha Sun Woo and high school student Han Na Young who happens to be a ghost.

Thoughts:
While I didn't hate this show it didn't particularly tickle my fancy either. I think it is a good idea and it the basic story line has been done in dramaland before. This was grittier show that had some good suspense and some pretty good horror, especially compared to some of the other "horror" genre shows I've watched. But I felt like I never got to know the characters. That is the hard thing about OCN shows, they are only 10 episodes. But I feel like they've done a better job in the past with character development. I was curious as to Cheo Yong's childhood and how seeing ghosts effected his upbringing. I guess I wanted to see more of the personal story lines rather then the case of the week. Overall it isn't a bad show I just wish we had gotten a more detailed story in the lore.

My Name is Kim Sam Soon
Synopsis:
At 29, Kim Sam Soon's career and love life have hit a dead end. She is overweight, unmarried, stuck with an embarrassingly old fashioned name, has just lost her job, and caught her boyfriend of three years cheating on her. Enter Hyunn Jin Heon, the arrogant 27 year old owner of a restaurant called Bon Appetit, who hires her to put her pastry chef skills to work as the restaurants chief baker. With Jin Heon's family breathing down his neck to get married, and Sam Soon desperately in need of money to save her family home, the two strike up a deal despite their volatile relationship. Sam Soon masquerades as Jin Heon's girlfriend and they begin to grow close, but things get complicated when Jin Heon's lost love returns with her sights set on getting him back.

Thoughts:
This is a classic drama that anyone who loves dramaland will eventually watch. It is one of those dramas that has stood the test of time to become a staple. I can't believe it took me this long to watch it but I'm glad I did. It is really a story about learning to love oneself and how that will bring love into all aspects of your life. Sam Soon is a strong character and while she can be exasperating at times she isn't someone who is going to let anyone control her life. I really like that she was a strong character. Jin Heon is a complete ass who was really hard to like, but that is also a thing you have to accept in dramaland, the rich, good looking, love interest is always a jerk. A classic drama that everyone should get around to watching.

But at the party, Oh Che Lin's new boyfriend arrives who looks exactly the same as Joon Sang.

Thoughts:
Because I only started watching dramas a year ago I haven't really gotten a chance to go back to older dramas and see where the shows I am watching now came from. This show was extremely popular when it first aired and it is considered a modern classic. The reason I watched this show was because of what it did to make a pathway for future kdramas. And really I enjoyed watching it, I knew going in that it was a melodrama and would have some ridiculous plot points with characters acting infuriating but overall I liked the love story and the two leads had great chemistry. It does drag a bit in the middle and probably would have been better with 16 episodes but it is a drama that has stood the test of time and is a staple for any drama lover, enjoy it for what it is.

Super Daddy Yeol
Synopsis:

When she gets diagnosed with terminal cancer and told she has one year left to live, she seeks out her ex-boyfriend Han Yeol, a former baseball player. Mi Rae and Yeol were a couple a decade ago, but she broke up with him to study abroad and because she didn't think much of his prospects. Soon after, a serious injury forced him to retire from the sport, and Yeol became the rehabilitation coach of a major league baseball team. Mi Rae is determined to transform still single, grungy, irritable Yeol into the best father possible for her daughter.

Thoughts:
Oh this show.... It was one that I was really looking forward to watching and it just took a nose dive into an unbearably melodramatic mess. Looking back at my thoughts on the first two episodes I realize how disappointing this show was. Characters make decisions that are frustrating and don't make sense. It was a hard show to finish and I would tell everyone to skip over this one.

Synopsis:
Oh Ah Ran is a high school student who sticks up for her bullied friend and becomes the victim of bullying in turn. Jo Kan Ja is her mom, a former Busan bad-ass who got pregnant in her teens and raised her daughter as a single mom. When she hears about the bullying that's going on in her daughter's school, she takes matters into her own hands and goes undercover as a high school student to fix the problem.

Thoughts
The synopsis does not prepare the audience at all for this show at all. I went into it thinking it was a comedy and soon realized that it is a pretty serious drama, that does have funny scenes, but focuses on the seriousness of its story. I loved every second of this drama, it had the cute lighthearted scenes that balanced out the heavy parts. Kim Hee Sun does an amazing job as a mother out to do whatever it takes to protect her child. The stand out in the show for me was Ji Soo who plays Go Bok Dong, the guy with a touch exterior but is really soft on the inside. Really great drama about a serious subject, definitely worth the watch.

However, as Choon Hyang shows no interest in him, his self-esteem is damaged profoundly. Byun Hak Do is determined to make her love him.

Thoughts:
I really like the first few episodes of this drama. It was funny and fast paced and I thought the lead couple were a good fit together. Then came the second leads.... Why, dear Lord, did they have to come and ruin the everything. I don't think I've ever hated a second female lead as much as I hated Chae Rin. Also why in the world would a grown man go for a girl who is still in high school. The second half of the drama definitely fell into makjang territory and the story just went around in circles until the last episode. So while it was a struggle to get to the end of this one I am glad I watched the Hong sister's first drama.

Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this drama. It is one that you can't take too serious and can just enjoy. Is it perfect? Definitely not! But you can watch this with you mind turned off and laugh and squeal at all the cute and ridiculous things going on in the show. The lead couple has amazing chemistry and worked really well together and that is what brought me back every week to watch the drama.

Thoughts:
I am a big fan of OCN dramas, they are just well made shows with great writing and brilliant acting. This show is no exception, the only thing that I really want from this show was more of it. I wish we could have seen more about the main characters back stories earlier in the series. 10 episodes isn't enough!

One day, on a school field trip Eun Byul mysteriously disappears. At teh same time, Eun Bi gets unjustly expelled from her school. Mistaken for her doppelganger, Eun Bi is forced to pretend to be Eun Byul and begins living her charmed life.

Thoughts:
This drama is a frustrating watch that leaves more to be desired. It focuses on a love triangle that in the end isn't very satisfying, all it achieved was creating a divide between the two ships. There is some great story lines that are completely forgotten to make the romance the focus. I don't think it's a bad drama but it had so much potential at the beginning and it just failed to reach it.

In the center of Yeouido is the KBS building. On its sixth floor are partitioned offices where employees work in the network's variety department, keeping hectic schedules of filming, editing and all-night meetings. Baek Seung Chan is an aspiring prosecutor who changes careers because of a woman. He is now a rookie PD with the variety division. Ra Joon Mo is a seasoned PD who has worked in the industry for ten years. Despite working on a lot of variety programs, he has no single masterpiece to call his own. And finally Cindy who is a famous singer and celebrity who became a trainee when she was 13 years old. She is called the "ice princess" for her poker face and complete control over her emotions.

Thoughts:
This drama was surrounded by a lot of hype before it premiered and when it wasn't quite what people expected there was a lot of negative feedback with the first few episodes. While I really liked the initial concept and was really disappointed when they dropped it and went with a more conservative plot I still enjoyed the drama a lot. It has some great characters that are very touching and overall has a good message. It isn't perfect but it wasn't horrible either.

Thoughts:
This was a really weird drama, I don't know it just wasn't what I was expecting it to be. There was definitely more frustrating parts in it then parts that I enjoyed, but the parts that were good were really really good. So it wasn't perfect but it is short and easy to watch.

Choi Jin Nyeo and Heong Yeong Joon have been cast as the second couple, they're twelve years apart in age and have been living together for a year. He's a pretty-boy singer who carries his guitar everywhere he goes, but doesn't actually know how to play it all that well. Takuya plays the new roommate, a young man from Japan who's on a trip around the world. Takuya thinks it's a shame that Joon Jae is wasting his youth as a homebody, and begins to draw him out into the world.

Thoughts:
This was a tough drama to keep watching each week, it wasn't really my type of humor. But I really loved the last episode, I wish some of the feelings that went into that final episode was spread out throughout the entire series. I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone based on how much I enjoyed it, but if you are looking for a show that is really different and a little bit raunchy this would be a good one to turn to.

Warm and Cozy
Synopsis:
Lee Jung Joo has struggled and worked hard all her life, but has never caught a break, leavening her perpetually grouchy. In her five years as an administrative employee at a clothing company in Seoul, she has never missed a day of work. But that doesn't stop her from losing her job, her house and her boyfriend in quick succession, so she unwillingly sets off to start a new life in Jeju Island. There, she meets Baek Gun Woo, chef and owner of the restaurant "Warm and Cozy." Jung Joo mistakes him for a con artist because he can't seem to help himself from telling charming lies left and right. Gun Woo is a laid back romantic from a wealthy family who only does what he feels like doing, including opening a restaurant on Jeju simply because that's where his crush lives. Jung Joo and Gun Woo clash over their different personalities and priorities, then gradually fall in love with each other.

Thoughts:
I had a really rough time watching this drama. The plot goes in circles for 16 episodes and is just frustrating to watch. The male lead is so unlikable that when we are finally supposed to see that he isn't just a jack ass it is really too late and I want the female lead to go off and date literally anyone but him. I wouldn't recommend this drama to anyone because I think there are other dramas that have the same feel and are more entertaining.

My Love Eun Dong
Synopsis:
Top actor Ji Eun Ho hires ghostwriter Seo Jung Eun to write his autobiography in 2015. Eun Ho is tense, irritable and difficult to work with, but Jung Eun finds her assignment fascinating because Eun Ho claims he began acting not because he wanted to become a star but because he thought being in the limelight would help him find his first love, Ji Eun Dong. Eun Ho and Eun Dong's complicated romantic history has spanned two decades, and he's convinced that he can never love anyone else. As Jung Eun helps him remember Eun Dong and why he lost her, Eun Ho (whose birth name is Park Hyun Soo) looks back on his memories of her, from when they met in 1995 when he was 17.

Thoughts:
This was a really nice, old-school romance. Yes there was a lot of melodrama elements to the drama, amnesia, trying to find a long lost love, and jealous ex-lovers plotting against true love. These are all things I've seen a lot in dramaland but I never got bored while watching this drama. The last two episodes left me a bit disappointed but overall it was a pretty entertaining watch that had me believing in true love.

She desperately wants to know what life would be life if she was born into a better family and didn't have to worry about money all the time. When a series of circumstances brings Ji Sook to Eun Ha, a woman from a wealthy family who strongly resembles Ji Sook, she grabs hold of the chance for a better life and assumes Eun Ha's identity and begins to life her elite life. She meets Min Woo, a chaebol heir who is mistrusting of the people around him. But when he realizes that Ji Sook is not like the other women he has met, he is drawn to her.

Thoughts:
Sometimes you just need to watch a ridiculous melodrama that has the most outlandish plot points and doesn't always make sense but it still keeps you engrossed in the story. This is a drama to watch when you don't want to take anything you are watching too seriously. You just have to let go of reality and enjoy the story. It was a fun drama and I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed watching it. The ending does put a little damper on the drama as a whole and I wish it could have ended differently, thinking back it would have been better as a 16 episode drama.

Will Ha Na and Choi Won be able to find their true loves or have they been blind to what's been there all along.

Thoughts:
I wanted to love this drama, I really wanted to... but it just was boring and it just dragged for 16 episodes. Everything just went too slow and I couldn't get behind any of the character's choices and by the end I wasn't as invested with the main couple. Which is a shame because I really like the actors in the drama. Overall I would suggest to skip this drama.

Bong Sun's boss is arrogant star chef Kang Sun Woo whom she secretly has a crush on. Sun Woo still hasn't gotten over an old girlfriend, but when Bong Sun seemingly gets rid of her shyness and suddenly changes into a confident, dynamic woman, she finally catches his eye.

Thoughts:
This drama is so great. No it isn't perfect but I fell in love with all the characters and I think it presented a very engaging and thoughtful story. Chef was just adorable and I squealed every time he would smile and seeing his character growth over the series was great. The real star of the drama though Park Bo Young who was just amazing! She played two very different characters and she did it extremely well. I want to see her in more dramas soon! It was definitely a great watch!

Thoughts:

Thoughts:
This drama was good, it dragged a bit in the middle but overall I thought it told a really great story and it told it in a realistic way. It showed the complexities of navigating friendship and love. I'm glad I watched it but I don't think I would ever really give this one as a suggestion unless someone was really looking for a drama about two friends who realize they have always loved each other, or if you are really searching for something to watch.

He then meet Han Yeo Jin who is in a deep sleep in the hospital.

Thoughts:
I loved this drama at the beginning, I thought it had great suspense and good acting, sure a lot of it was out of the realm of possibility but I really did look forward to watching it this week. And then it just stopped being appealing to me and I started to have to force myself to watch each week. And then the ending happened and I was just so disappointed. I think the hardest part about this drama is the wasted opportunity to have a great drama, that is almost harder for me to look past and get over than a drama that started out bad and committed to just being bad. Overall I wouldn't give this one a recommendation because the ending was such a disappointment.

A Thousand Days' Promise

The two of them have a complicated relationship, as she doesn't want to marry him and have him abandon his wealthy family for her, and he find himself unable to break up his engagement. But their love is tested when Seo Yeon finds that she is slowly losing all of her memory.

Thoughts:
Gosh this drama is just depressing and I can't really tell if it is a good type of depressing drama or the bad type. I am leaning toward the bad end because I didn't enjoy watching the drama. I chose to watch this drama because everyone said that it was really great and super sad and I agree that the acting was, for the most part, well done and the story is really intriguing. But when I finished the drama I just felt sad and I don't think the drama was that good to make me feel that way. It's not a bad drama and has a lot of good things about it and so maybe I just watched it at a bad time and that is why I didn't enjoy it a ton. If you are looking for something to cry about definitely check this drama out, if you are looking for a feel good happy go lucky type drama then definitely don't pick this one up.

Thoughts:
Gosh this drama has all the feels. It is a short watch with only 12 episodes but each episode is packed with so much emotion. It is a drama that has a lot of heart and just makes you root for the characters. I would definitely recommend this one for anyone looking for a show that has a great message and tackles some heavy topics without getting bogged down with too much seriousness.

The story revolves around a 38 year old housewife, Ha No RA, who decided to go back to school and experience the college life for the first time. She spent the last two decades as a housewife after she got married and became a mother at the age of 19. Her 20 year old son, Kim Min Soo and his girlfriend, Oh Hye Mi are her classmates, while her husband, Kim Woo Chul and her first love, Cha Hyun Suk are professors at that college.

Thoughts:
I loved this drama. It really ahd everythign for me, a strong lead female who took charge of her life and took risks. It also had a nice romantic background but the drama definitely didn't focus too much on Ha No Ra's love life. It was really about her learning to love herself and find her self worth after 20 years of being pushed down. There are some great characters throughout it that make the story really interesting. A great watch for sure!

Ji Sung Joon was an unattractive boy with low self-esteem, but grew up to be a handsome and successful editor. Thoughts:
This was such a fun drama for the most part, it was funny and lighthearted and just fun to watch. The romance was adorable and I really loved the relationship between our two female leads. Their friendship is so nice to see and how they didn't let this guy ruin their friendship forever. Overall a great watch even if the last few episodes drag a bit.
